Verifying your phone number for Google Merchant Center (GMC) is an essential step to comply with Google’s Trust and Safety requirements. This verification adds credibility to your business and ensures compliance for your product listings and ads. Step 1: Go to the Phone Verification Step in Kliken’s Checklist
Log in to your Kliken Account and go to the Google Shopping checklist in your dashboard.
Find the step labeled Google needs to verify your phone number. This is where you’ll enter your phone number and request verification.
Step 2: Choose Your Phone Number and Verification Method
If You Have Already Verified Your Phone Number:
If you have already completed phone verification in the Google Merchant Center account linked to your product listings, simply click I already verified my number for Google to proceed to the next step in the checklist.
If You Have Not Verified Your Phone Number:
Select the appropriate country code for your phone number and enter your phone number in the provided text box.
Choose one of the following verification methods:
Verify by Text: If your phone can receive SMS, select this option to receive a text message with your verification code.
Verify by Call: If SMS is not an option, select Verify by Call to receive a phone call with your verification code.
Note: If your phone cannot receive SMS and you select Verify by Text, you will receive an error message. Ensure your device can accept the selected verification method.
Step 3: Enter Your Verification Code
After choosing a verification method, wait to receive the verification code by text or call.
Once you receive the code, enter it in the appropriate text box to complete verification.
Additional Notes and Troubleshooting
Verification Code Limits: You may only request a verification code up to 5 times within a 4-hour period for a single phone number. If you reach this limit, wait a few hours before trying again or use a different phone number if available.
Optional Verification in Google Merchant Center: If you prefer, you can complete the phone verification directly in your Google Merchant Center account. To do this:
Log in to Google Merchant Center, go to Business Information > Phone Number, and follow Google’s instructions for verification.
If Kliken created your GMC account and you haven't yet added yourself, follow the instructions in your Kliken dashboard to add yourself using a Google account-associated email address.
