What is a Promoted Post?
A Promoted Post (also called a Boost) puts paid advertising budget behind an existing post to increase its reach, traffic, and engagement on Facebook and Instagram. Instead of relying on organic reach alone, your post is shown to a broader, targeted audience — no Ads Manager required.
Is promoting a post free?
No. Promoted Posts use paid advertising budget. You set your total budget, start date, and run duration. There are no long-term contracts — you only pay for the budget you choose.
A management fee applies to Promoted Posts. Please refer to our billing collection for more details.
What posts are eligible to boost?
To boost a post it must be published and connected to a Facebook Page or Instagram account linked to your Social Boost account. Posts with certain content types may be ineligible based on Meta's advertising policies.
If a post cannot be boosted, it will not appear as an available option in the boost flow.
How do I promote a post?
Go to Social Boost and select the post you want to promote
Select your total budget
Pick your start and end date
Confirm your boost
Your post goes live across Facebook and Instagram at the scheduled time. Delivery may ramp up in the first 24 hours as Meta's optimization improves, then stabilizes over the run.
What's included with a Promoted Post?
Delivery across Facebook and Instagram
Automatic audience optimization
Scheduled start and end times
Real-time performance tracking
Budget control in one place
What can I track?
From your dashboard you can monitor reach, engagement, clicks, and budget spent in real time.
Can I edit a boost after scheduling?
You cannot edit a boost once it has been confirmed. To make changes, cancel the existing boost and create a new one with your updated settings.
Can I cancel a boost?
Yes. You can cancel a scheduled or active boost at any time. Eligible unspent ad spend is automatically refunded to your original payment method. The management fee is non-refundable.
See our article here full details on what is and isn't refunded.
When should I promote a post?
Consider boosting when:
A post is already performing well organically
You're launching a new product
You're running a limited-time sale
You want to drive more traffic quickly
How is a Promoted Post different from an organic post?
