My Boost Is Live — What Should I Expect?

Once your boost is live, your post is being delivered across Facebook and Instagram according to your selected goal, audience, budget, and schedule.

Delivery ramp-up is normal

During the first 24 hours:

  • Reach and engagement may fluctuate

  • Delivery may scale up gradually

  • Performance may not look stable yet

This is expected while Meta distributes your boost across placements and audiences.

When should I evaluate results?

For a clearer read on performance, wait at least 24 hours; 48 hours gives a more reliable view. Early performance doesn't necessarily reflect final results, and longer boosts may take more time to settle.

What can I track?

From your dashboard, you can monitor:

  • Reach

  • Engagement

  • Clicks

  • Budget spent

  • Remaining duration

Your boost runs through the end date you set, as long as it launched successfully.

Can I change a boost while it's running?

Yes — while a boost is running you can still adjust the targeting and audience, extend the end date, or increase the budget. The goal, the post you're boosting, the start date, and lowering the budget are locked once a boost is purchased. For the full list, see What Happens After I Schedule a Boost?
