Every Social Boost post ends with a short address on our own domain, like https://sboost.co/ayd9av. It sends people to your website.
It appears as that address because the text of a Facebook or Instagram post is plain text. Whatever web address you put in it is exactly what readers see, and there is no way to attach your business name or wording like "click here" to it.
Why not just use my website address?
For a post pointing at your homepage, your own address would read better. We use the short link because of what happens after the tap. Facebook will tell you a post got link clicks, but it stops there. The short link carries the visit through to your website, so your dashboard can tie it back to the post that sent it. A visit arriving through an address you typed yourself still shows as traffic from Facebook, but there is no way to tell which post it came from.
You can still have both. See below.
Can I use my own web address instead?
Yes. The short link can't be relabelled, but the post can be edited. Before it publishes, type your own address into the post text. It publishes exactly as you typed it, so if your domain is your business name, that is what readers see. On Facebook it will be tappable. On Instagram no link in a caption is tappable, short or long.
Three things to know first:
Delete the short link if you don't want both. Leave it in and the post publishes with two addresses.
Your own address is counted differently. Facebook still counts the tap, but only the short link ties the visit back to the post in your dashboard.
On Shopping, check where you are sending people. The short link already points at the product in the post. Swap it for your homepage and buyers have to find that product themselves.
Where the short link goes, and what it can tell you
Social Boost Services: the link goes to your website, using the address on your account, normally your homepage. Your dashboard shows the taps and visits your posts sent you. It can't see what happens next, so a booking taken by phone, by email or in person won't appear there.
Social Boost Shopping: the link goes to the exact product in your catalog that the post features. Because the visit lands on that product in your store, a sale that follows can be counted too.
Is sboost.co a safe link?
Yes. It is Kliken's own domain, used only for Social Boost posts. It is not a public shortener that anyone can create links on, and every sboost.co link in your posts goes to your own website.
Getting more people to tap
Tell them why in the post. A line above the link works better than the link itself ever could: "See this week's availability:" or "Read the full guide:". You keep the tracking either way.
Promote the post. A Promoted Post reaches people beyond your followers and carries a tappable button such as Learn More or Shop Now. See What is a Promoted Post?.
On Instagram, use your bio link. See Why aren't the links in my Instagram posts clickable?.
