Overview

When running a Facebook campaign through Kliken, it is essential to understand the role of the Facebook Pixel and how it can impact your campaign's reported performance statistics. The Facebook Pixel is a piece of code that you place on your website. It collects data to help you track conversions from Facebook ads, optimize ads, build targeted audiences for future ads, and remarket to people who have already interacted with your website. When creating a campaign, Kliken will either create a pixel for you, or prompt you to use your own pixel (if we're able to indentify one).

Why the Facebook Pixel is Important

The Facebook Pixel is a powerful analytics tool that measures the effectiveness of your Facebook advertising. By installing it on your website, you can track visitors' interactions after they click on your ad. This data is crucial for:

  1. Tracking Conversions: It allows you to see if users complete desired actions, such as making a purchase or filling out a form, which helps in assessing the performance of your ads.

  2. Optimizing Ads: The pixel helps in optimizing your ads by targeting audiences who are more likely to convert based on their previous interactions with your site.

  3. Remarketing: You can use pixel data to retarget visitors who have shown interest but didn't complete a purchase, thereby increasing the chances of conversion.

  4. Creating Lookalike Audiences: The pixel data allows you to create lookalike audiences, targeting new users who share similar characteristics with your existing customers.

Potential Issues with Multiple Pixels

If your e-commerce platform or another partner has already created a Facebook Pixel for your website, and you set up a new one with Kliken, you may encounter issues. Running multiple pixels can lead to incorrect performance statistics and errors in your Facebook campaign reports because each pixel independently tracks data. This can cause data discrepancies and misinterpretations of user actions.

Recommended Actions

To avoid these issues, you have two options:

Option A: Only Utilize Kliken's Pixel

  1. Disable Other Pixels: Before starting your Kliken campaign, disable any other Facebook Pixels active on your website.

  2. Verify Pixel Implementation: Make sure that only Kliken's Pixel is installed and active on your website.

Option B: Use Your Existing Pixel

If you have been using a Facebook Pixel for previous campaigns and prefer to continue using it, you can still do so. Ensure that Kliken's campaign setup process correctly utilizes your existing pixel:

  1. Select Your Existing Pixel During Setup: When setting up your campaign with Kliken, select your existing Facebook Pixel in the pixel selection step during the campaign creation process.

  2. Coordinate with Kliken Support: If unsure how to select your existing pixel or need assistance, contact Kliken support for guidance to ensure your existing pixel is properly integrated into the new campaign.

By following these recommendations, you can ensure that your Facebook campaign performance statistics remain accurate and reliable, helping you make better-informed decisions for your marketing efforts
