When you run a Facebook Ads campaign with us, your ad can go through various statuses that reflect where it is in the process.
Keep in mind that after your ads are created, Facebook—not Kliken—will complete a final review to ensure they meet the platform's advertising guidelines. This process is normally able to be completed in a timely manner, but depending on your ads, may take longer.
Overview of Approval Process
Facebook's ad review process is designed to ensure that all advertisements comply with their advertising policies. Typically, most ads are reviewed within 24 hours. However, the duration can vary based on several factors:
Ad Content: Ads featuring sensitive topics or complex content may undergo more thorough scrutiny, potentially extending the review time.
Volume of Submissions: During peak times, such as holidays or major events, Facebook may experience a higher volume of ad submissions, leading to longer review times.
Account History: Advertisers with a history of compliant ads may experience quicker review times, as their accounts are considered more trustworthy
The timeline for review is based on WHEN all relevant data has been supplied in order for Facebook to review. If there is any missing information, or errors with your Facebook Page or Instagram account connections, your approval process will likely be delayed.
Statuses
Here’s an overview of what each status means and what may be happening behind the scenes to help your ad reach your audience.
1. Active
Meaning: Your ad is live and delivering to your target audience.
Behind the Scenes: We’ve completed the necessary setup, and the ad is currently visible to the audiences you want to reach. You’re all set to monitor its performance and results.
2. Pending Review
Meaning: Your ad is waiting for Facebook's review process.
Behind the Scenes: Facebook reviews every ad to ensure it meets their policies. While this may take time, we’re monitoring the process and will inform you once your ad is approved and goes live.
3. In Review
Meaning: Facebook is actively reviewing your ad to confirm it follows advertising policies.
Behind the Scenes: This step includes checking your ad’s content and targeting against Facebook’s policies. If it complies, your ad will proceed to Active; if not, adjustments may be needed.
4. Rejected
Meaning: Facebook has identified something in the ad that doesn’t align with its advertising policies.
Behind the Scenes: When this occurs, Facebook provides us with a reason. We may need to make adjustments or contact you to discuss how to bring the ad into compliance for resubmission.
5. Paused
Meaning: The ad has been temporarily paused.
Behind the Scenes: Pausing might occur due to campaign settings or an update request from you. While paused, your ad won’t reach audiences until it’s reactivated.
6. Completed
Meaning: The ad campaign has finished its scheduled run.
Behind the Scenes: The ad has delivered as scheduled, and performance data is now available for you to review. You’re welcome to start a new campaign if you wish to continue reaching your audience.
7. Learning
Meaning: Your ad is in a "Learning" phase where Facebook gathers data to optimize its delivery.
Behind the Scenes: Facebook’s system is identifying the best way to deliver your ad to maximize its performance. During this time, ad delivery may fluctuate as the system tests different strategies.
8. Learning Limited
Meaning: Facebook’s system didn’t gather enough data to fully optimize your ad's delivery.
Behind the Scenes: In this status, your ad may need adjustments to budget or targeting to improve its effectiveness and reach.
9. Error
Meaning: There is an issue preventing your ad from delivering.
Behind the Scenes: This status could be due to a technical problem or a policy issue. We’ll review any error details and work on adjustments to help your ad start delivering again.
