What Are GTINs and MPNs?
GTIN (Global Trade Item Number): A unique identifier used to identify products globally. Common examples include UPC (Universal Product Code), EAN (European Article Number), and ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
MPN (Manufacturer Part Number): A unique code issued by manufacturers to identify specific products or parts.
These identifiers ensure that your products are recognized accurately on advertising platforms, enabling better visibility, relevance, and campaign performance.
How GTINs and MPNs Support Google Shopping Campaigns
For Google Shopping campaigns, GTINs and MPNs are read from your store’s product data to improve product exposure and performance:
Improves Product Matching: Google uses GTINs to match products to its catalog, ensuring accurate and enriched product data in search results.
Boosts Ad Performance: Products with GTINs often outperform those without because Google can display detailed information, like reviews and price comparisons.
Reduces Policy Errors: Missing or incorrect GTINs and MPNs can result in product disapprovals or limited performance.
GTIN Requirements for Google Shopping
If your product has a GTIN, your store’s data must include it for Google to use.
Products without GTINs (like handmade items or custom goods) should include the MPN and the brand field instead.

Common Questions and Issues
Can I Updated my product data in the Kliken App?
No. Product data is stored within your Store and must be managed via your store catalog and affiliated partner's product management process. However, as soon as you make the needed updates, you can return to the Kkliken Ap and complete a store refresh, which will update all the most up-to-date data in our platform and onward to Google (or directly with Google is you have imported your own, personal Merchant Center Account). What if my product doesn’t have a GTIN?
Ensure your store’s data includes the MPN and brand fields. For custom products, mark them as "custom" in your store. Why are my products disapproved due to GTINs?
The data provided in your store might contain errors, such as typos or invalid GTINs. If GTINs are unavailable, ensure your store data includes the MPN and brand. What happens if I don’t provide a GTIN?
If a GTIN exists for a product but is not provided, it is flagged as a critical error. The product will be disapproved until corrected.
For products without GTINs (e.g., handmade items), not providing MPN and brand fields may trigger a warning. The product might still run but with limited performance.
