If you’ve recently received an email about Lightspeed’s integration with Google Local Inventory Ads (LIA), you might be wondering how it affects your existing advertising campaigns or whether any action is required. This guide will help answer your questions.

What Is Lightspeed’s Google Local Inventory Integration?

Lightspeed is rolling out a feature to display your in-store product inventory across Google properties, such as Search, Maps, and the Shopping tab. This program aims to help local customers discover your products, driving foot traffic to your store.

Key Benefits:

  • Increased visibility to local shoppers, supporting a focus on foot traffic in your physical locations.

  • Improved discoverability of in-store products at no additional cost.

  • On average, 16% more impressions and 5% more clicks for retailers displaying local inventory (per Google data).

Will This Affect My Current Kliken Campaigns?

In most cases, no. Lightspeed and Kliken campaigns can operate in parallel without issues because LIAs and Google Shopping Ads serve different purposes. However, there are situations where overlapping product feeds might cause conflicts:

  1. Using Both Lightspeed X-Series and Ecwid E-Series:
If you are on Lightspeed X-Series while running campaigns through Kliken (Ecwid E-Series), product data may be uploaded to Google twice, potentially leading to discrepancies.

What Should I Do?

  1. Confirm Your Lightspeed Version:
Check if you are using Lightspeed’s X-Series platform. If so, and you are already running campaigns with Kliken or Ecwid, you may want to consider opting out of Lightspeed’s LIA program to avoid duplicate feeds.

  2. Monitor Your Campaigns:
Watch for any unusual changes in performance metrics. If you notice issues, contact our support team for assistance.

  3. Validate Product Data:
Ensure your inventory syncs correctly and that there are no mismatched values or missing attributes, such as GTINs, in your Shopping Ads Diagnostic Hub.

  4. Review the Merchant Center Account

If you believe there may be an impact to your performance, you can validate if you have multiple feeds operating in your Merchant Account Center by:

    1. If you have imported your MCA: Navigating to your MCA -> Settings & Tools -> Data Sources

    2. If you are utilizing a Kliken created MCA: Contact our support team and request a validation of the data source list in the MCA.
